CNMG-BR is an 80° rhombic negative-rake indexable turning insert equipped with BR chipbreaker for rough turning operations. Adopting 0° clearance angle and double-sided usable cutting edges, it boasts outstanding edge strength to withstand large depth of cut and heavy feed rates, suitable for heavy-load machining and interrupted cutting conditions.
The specially designed BR chipbreaker achieves stable chip breaking and evacuation under high metal removal rate, effectively avoiding long curled chips and chip entanglement. It is primarily developed for roughing of carbon steel and alloy steel. It is widely used on CNC lathes for heavy stock removal, improving machining efficiency and reducing frequent insert replacement.
