The servo drive architecture begins at the extruder, where a high-torque servo motor replaces the traditional AC motor and gear reducer combination. Direct servo control eliminates gear backlash effects on screw speed consistency and provides full torque across the entire 0-120 RPM operating range — a significant advantage during low-speed startup and grade transition phases where conventional motors operate below their efficient torque band.
