The safety-related F3 DIO 8/8 01 remote I/O is a compact unit built in a metal housing and equipped with 8 digital inputs, 8 digital DO+ outputs (L- ground), 2 digital DO- outputs (S+ ground), and 2 pulsed outputs. The digital outputs DO4+, DO8+, DO4-, and DO8- can also be wired as 2-pole connections when needed. The module is available in several model variants for both SILworX and ELOP II Factory, as shown in the screen referenced.
These remote I/O units connect to individual HIMax or HIMatrix controllers over safeethernet. Their job is to expand the I/O capacity of a system, and they don't run any user program on their own.

Line Control Purpose
Line control is used to detect short-circuits or open-circuits and can be configured for remote I/O, e.g., on EMERGENCY STOP inputs compliant with Cat. 4 and PL e according to EN ISO 13849-1.
Connection Setup
01. Digital Output to Input Loop: Connect the system's digital outputs TO 1 through TO 2 to the digital inputs DI of the same system.
02. Pulsed Line Detection: The remote I/O continuously pulses the outputs to detect: • Short-circuits • Open-circuits on the lines connected to the digital inputs.
03. Configuration: In SILworX, configure the pulsed outputs via: Value [BOOL] -> system variable
In ELOP II Factory, use: DO[01].Value system signal
Note: The variables for pulsed outputs must: • Begin with channel 1 • Be in direct sequential order
