The IC697MEM717 memory module is designed as a daughterboard that installs directly in the same slot as the module it serves. This configuration supplements the baseboard's available memory capacity. The module ensures reliable memory retention during power loss scenarios through the battery located on the baseboard housing.
The IC697MEM717 features logic program memory that undergoes continuous error checking by the PLC CPU as a background task. PCM error checking on storage memory persists through power cycling, hard resets, and soft resets. For CPU installation procedures, technicians should clear memory using Windows programming software or MS-DOS software. For PCM installation, follow all instructions provided with the programmable coprocessor module.
This memory module offers a 10-year shelf life at optimal ambient temperature of 20°C (68°F) and provides nominal memory retention of 6 months without applied power. The integrated battery ensures user memory preservation during power removal and maintains calendar clock accuracy while disconnected.
