Original-System Compatibility
Requires an IMAMM03 master and connects through the slave expander bus. ABB/Bailey documentation identifies NTAI03, NTAI04 and NIAI03 termination hardware for the RTD field wiring.

Historical Replacement
ABB evolution information places the AMM/ASM family on an engineered migration path to the IMASI23 Universal Analog Input Module. This requires an MFP or later controller and configuration changes; IMASI23 is not a direct slot-for-slot replacement.

Temperature monitoring using platinum, nickel or copper three-wire RTDs.
Boiler, turbine, motor, bearing and process-equipment temperature measurement in INFI 90 systems.
Maintenance searches commonly involve an open or miswired RTD, incorrect slave address, failed expander-bus communication, termination damage or calibration drift.
Loss of one slave can remove eight temperature points and may trigger alarms, protective logic or a controlled shutdown.

Configuration & Installation
Set S1 to the required group address from 0 through 7 and make sure it matches the master configuration.
Connect P2 to the slave expander bus and P3 to the specified NTAI03/NTAI04/NIAI03 field termination.
Verify RTD material, resistance curve and three-wire lead arrangement before energizing the input group.

Calibration & Diagnostics
The manual provides an RTD calibration procedure using precision reference resistances; use calibrated equipment and the specified external or internal method.
A front status LED supports initial fault isolation. A group fault should also be checked at the master, expander bus and termination before exchange.
Recheck all eight points after replacement to detect swapped leads, wrong RTD curves or an address conflict.

Maintenance
At six-month intervals or during shutdown, inspect calibration and connections and remove dust with static-safe equipment.
Replace a failed module with the same S1 and jumper settings; field component repair is not the manufacturer's service method.
