Independent AIS AtoN with an Integrated Power System

The DX903S is a compact, solar-integrated AIS AtoN system for navigation buoys, fixed beacons and other remote marine marks.

Its AIS transponder, solar panels, LiFePO₄ battery, antenna and positioning functions are integrated into one IP68 unit. This simplifies installation where an external power system is unavailable and helps reduce the number of separate components required at the site.

New buoy and field projects often need AIS communication but do not have an existing battery, solar array or power-management system.

The DX903S brings the main AIS and power components together in one compact unit. It can be mounted as a complete communication system rather than requiring the customer to source and connect several separate devices.

This makes it particularly suitable for new installations, temporary projects and remote marks where installation space and maintenance access are limited.

Reliable Solar Operation in Poor Weather

Four vertical solar panels collect energy from different directions and charge the internal LiFePO₄ battery.

The system supports ≥30 days of operation in overcast or rainy conditions, helping maintain AIS communication during periods of reduced solar charging. The sealed IP68 construction is designed for long-term exposure on buoys and fixed marine structures.

AIS Communication for Physical AtoN Assets

The DX903S supports Type 1 and Type 3 AIS AtoN operation with:

  •     FATDMA: pre-assigned AIS transmission slots
  •     RATDMA: selection of available transmission slots
  •     SOTDMA: self-organised transmission scheduling

The typical AIS communication range is 15–20 NM, depending on antenna height, installation conditions, surrounding obstructions and system configuration.
