The Schneider TM221CE16U is a compact Modicon M221 logic controller with 16 embedded digital I/O points. It provides 9 digital inputs and 7 NPN transistor outputs, operates from a 24 VDC power supply and includes an embedded Ethernet port.
The U output code identifies the NPN transistor-output configuration. This version is intended for compatible sinking-output control circuits and must not be confused with the TM221CE16T PNP transistor controller.

The TM221CE16U is suitable for packaging machines, conveyors, assembly equipment, labeling machines, small positioning systems, pumps, fans and automated material-handling systems using 24 VDC control circuits.
The NPN outputs are intended for compatible sinking-output wiring. The field-device polarity, common connection, output current, leakage current, protective components and switching frequency must be verified before commissioning.
For applications using pulse commands to a variable speed drive, servo drive or stepper drive, confirm the required pulse type, voltage level, frequency and common wiring.

TM221CE16R uses relay outputs and a 100-240 VAC controller power supply. The relay, PNP and NPN versions require different power and field-wiring arrangements.
