The Gefran ME1-6-M-P05M-1-4-D 2130X000X00, ordering code F007742, is an amplified melt pressure transmitter with a 0 to 5,000 psi measuring range and 4–20 mA output. It is designed for extrusion and polymer-processing control systems that receive an industrial current-loop signal. The ME1 can be connected to an appropriately powered 4–20 mA input used by a PLC, pressure controller or process monitoring system. The input must be scaled so that 4 mA represents the calibrated zero and 20 mA represents 5,000 psi. Existing alarm thresholds, shutdown logic and displayed engineering units should be recorded before removing the old transmitter. The actual loop supply and permitted load must be verified from the applicable documentation and nameplate.
Do not replace a 3.33 mV/V M31 transducer with this ME1 merely because the mechanical pressure range and thread appear similar. The excitation, receiving input and wiring arrangement are different. During installation, keep the flexible section away from sharp edges and hot surfaces beyond its approved conditions. Verify loop polarity and connector pinout before applying power. Mechanical zero and process zero should be checked after installation according to the machine procedure.
ME1-6-M-P10M-1-4-D F007744 uses a 10,000 psi range and requires different controller scaling. M31-6-M-P05M-1-4-D F008650 has the same nominal 5,000 psi range but supplies a 3.33 mV/V signal instead of 4–20 mA. ME2 configurations may include an additional temperature-measurement function and require different wiring. Related models are provided for family reference only and are not automatically interchangeable.
Provide the complete model and F007742 when requesting supply. Confirm that the required item is a complete 4–20 mA pressure transmitter rather than a passive transducer, pressure tip or incomplete assembly. Nameplate photographs should show the pressure range, electrical output, connector and all suffix codes.
