This transducer can be used with extrusion pressure indicators, controllers and acquisition modules that accept the specified mV/V bridge signal. The receiving instrument must provide the appropriate bridge excitation and must be scaled for a 10,000 psi full range. It should not be connected directly to an input intended only for 4–20 mA transmitters. Typical applications include extruder barrel, adapter and die pressure monitoring where a rigid-stem installation is mechanically and thermally suitable.
Before replacement, compare the complete nameplate rather than using only the M30 family designation. Confirm pressure range, output sensitivity, six-pin connector wiring, process thread, rigid-stem length and the absence of a flexible capillary. The mounting hole must be clean and correctly machined; excessive installation torque or hardened polymer at the tip can damage the sensing diaphragm. Controller scaling and alarm settings must be checked when replacing a lower-range transducer.
M30-6-M-P05M-1-4-0 F008531 uses the same rigid-stem concept but has a 0 to 5,000 psi range. M31-6-M-P10M-1-4-D F008653 retains the 10,000 psi range while adding a flexible section. W31 models use an FDA-compatible oil filling system instead of mercury. Related models are provided for family reference only and are not automatically interchangeable.
