The T407959 Valve Guide is specifically designed for Perkins 4.236, 4.248, 6.354.2, A4.236, T4.236, 6.354, 6.354.1, 6.354.4, AT6.354, and G4.236 naturally aspirated and turbocharged diesel engines. These engines are widely used in Massey Ferguson 165-398 series tractors, MF 30-50 backhoe loaders, MF 550-890 combines, Landini 7860-8880 row-crop tractors, Claas 65-75 forage harvesters, JCB 3CX/4CX backhoes, New Holland 1116 swathers, 1495/1496 mower-conditioners, FG-Wilson P100-4 and P135-4 generator sets, and various irrigation, construction, and marine auxiliary equipment. The valve guide ensures precise valve alignment and reduced wear, enhancing engine efficiency and longevity.
Technical specifications:
The T407959 Valve Guide features a precision-machined design with a bore diameter of 9.5 mm, an overall length of 123.3 mm, and a head diameter of 36.6 mm. It is manufactured from high-quality alloy cast iron, ensuring excellent wear resistance and high-temperature performance. The guide undergoes induction hardening to 52-58 HRC, enhancing its durability and ability to withstand the rigorous demands of high-temperature operation. The gas-nitrided layer (0.03-0.05 mm thick) on the lower stem provides a surface hardness of over 850 HV, resisting scuffing during prolonged high-temperature exhaust pulses typical of turbocharged Perkins engines. The head and stem are CNC-finished to Ra 0.2 µm, ensuring positive sealing and uniform heat transfer every cycle.
Material & performance features:
The T407959 Valve Guide is forged from 21-4N (5Cr21Mn9Ni4N) austenitic steel, which retains 900 MPa tensile strength at 700 °C. The head is flash-chrome plated (≈3 µm) to reduce friction and valve-guide wear. The nitride layer on the stem prevents micro-welding, ensuring stable lash over thousands of hours of stop-start field service. The tulip profile is swirl-polished to improve flow efficiency and reduce pumping losses, contributing to cleaner combustion and lower fuel consumption across the 4.236/6.354 engine map.
