This valve is engineered for the intake phase of naturally aspirated and turbocharged Perkins 4.236, AT4.236, 4.248, A4.248, 6.354, A6.354, 6.354.1, 6.354.2, 6.354.4, T6.354, TC6.354.1, HT6.354, AT6.354, C6.354.4 and 6.372 diesel engines; it is therefore found in Massey Ferguson 165-399 series tractors, 30-699 back-hoe/loaders, 550-890 combines, Claas 65-75 forage harvesters, Landini 7860-8880 row-crop tractors, New Holland 1116 swathers, 1495/1496 mower-conditioners, Case-IH CLASSIQUE line
Technical specifications:
The valve head is 44.2 mm (1.741 in) in diameter with a 45° seat angle, overall length 122.8 mm / 4.838 in and stem diameter 9.5 mm (0.3729 in); weight 0.127-0.15 kg. The stem tip is induction-hardened, the head is solution-treated and the whole geometry is CNC-finished to give a micro-smooth surface that seats positively every cycle.
Material & performance features:
Produced from low-alloy martensitic steel (21-4N/5Cr21Mn9Ni4N derivative) that offers 900 MPa tensile strength at 700 °C, the head is flash-chrome plated (≈3 µm) to cut friction and valve-guide wear while the stem receives a gas-nitrided layer 0.02-0.04 mm thick giving >750 HV surface hardness; the nitride layer resists scuffing in prolonged low-speed, high-boost duty typical of modern turbocharged Perkins engines, while the chrome face prevents micro-welding on the seat, keeping blow-by minimal and maintaining stable compression over thousands of hours in stop-start agricultural or industrial service.
