Application:
Exhaust valve 10000-27055 / 120176391 is engineered for Perkins 403C-15, 403C-17, 404C-22 and 404C-22T four-cylinder diesels (2.2–2.8 L) that power compact agricultural tractors such as Massey Ferguson 1700 E-series, mini-excavators, 50 Hz prime-duty generator sets and small tele-handlers. These engines are rated 26–50 kW at 2600–2800 min⁻¹ and meet EU Stage IIIA / EPA Tier 4-final emission limits; the valve is therefore dimensioned to resist 850 °C combustion temperature while maintaining seat concentricity below 0.02 mm TIR, ensuring blow-by stays within 1 % even after 12 000 h of cyclic load.
Technical specifications:
Overall length 114.3 mm, head diameter 34.0 mm, stem diameter 8.0 mm, seat face angle 45°, margin thickness 2.2 mm, stem tip induction-hardened to 52 HRC. The valve is machined from 21-4N (UNS S63015) austenitic stainless steel, solution-treated at 1050 °C and age-hardened to 28 HRC head centre for creep strength.
Material & performance features:
The 21-4N alloy contains 9 % Mn, 4 % Cr, 3 % Ni and 0.45 % C, offering continuous hot strength to 850 °C and resistance to lead/sulphur corrosion when low-grade fuels are used. Chrome plating reduces stem wear groove depth to <0.02 mm after 6 000 h, while the roll-burnished fillet delays thermal-fatigue cracking by 30 %.
