Valve Guide CH12583 is a precision-machined, straight-type guide that services both inlet and exhaust valves on Perkins 1106C/1106D 6-cylinder 6.0 L diesels as well as the earlier 1006.6 and T4.236/AT4.236 4.0 L turbocharged engines. Typical host machines are JCB 3CX/4CX back-hoe loaders, JCB 535-95/540-170 telescopic handlers, Manitou MLT 1440 telehandlers, Terex TLB 840, Massey Ferguson 6465/6470/7480 tractors, McCormick MTX/MCX range, Landini Legend and Atlantis models, plus 120–400 kVA generator sets and compact wheel loaders used in European, North-American and Middle-East rental fleets. Because the guide length, stem clearance and 8 mm bore are dimensionally identical to legacy 4.236 units, the same CH12583 part covers forty years of 4- and 6-cylinder Perkins production, making it a single service solution for vintage combines, forklifts and irrigation pumps still operating worldwide.

Overall length 57 mm, outside diameter 14.0 mm, valve-stem bore 8.000–8.015 mm, seat-counter-bore 9.5 mm, wall thickness 3.0 mm, guide-to-stem designed clearance 0.04–0.07 mm at 90 °C operating temperature. The guide is drilled for 6 mm ID oil feed at 45° which aligns with the cylinder-head oil gallery, ensuring positive splash lubrication to the stem and reducing the risk of scuffing during cold start.

Produced from centrifugally-cast Cu-Cr-Mo alloyed cast iron (Hardness 200–240 HB), the guide matrix is impregnated with 0.4 % free graphite that acts as a built-in lubricant, lowering the coefficient of friction against the chrome-plated valve stem by 25 % compared with plain grey iron. After finish-boring, the bore is diamond-honed to Rz ≤ 1.6 µm surface roughness, eliminating break-in time and cutting initial wear by 30 %.
