Application:
Valve Cover Gasket 3681A069 seals the rocker cover on Perkins 1104D-E44T, 1104D-E44TA and 1104C-E44T 4-cylinder 4.4 L diesels as well as the earlier 1004.4 and T4.236/AT4.236 4.0 L turbocharged engines. Typical host machines are JCB 3CX/4CX back-hoe loaders, JCB 535-95/540-170 telescopic handlers, Manitou MLT 1440 telehandlers, Terex TLB 840, Massey Ferguson 6465/6470/7480 tractors, McCormick MTX/MCX range, Landini Legend and Atlantis models plus 60–200 kVA generator sets and compact wheel loaders used throughout European, North-American and Middle-East rental fleets. Because the gasket footprint and 8 × 6 mm locating dowels are dimensionally identical to legacy 4.236 rocker covers, the same 3681A069 seal covers forty years of 4-cylinder Perkins production, making it a single service solution for vintage combines, forklifts and irrigation pumps still operating worldwide.
Technical specifications:
Overall length 420 mm, width 85 mm, thickness 0.8 mm, bead diameter 2.5 mm, 14 × 6 mm bolt holes on 74 mm pitch. The gasket is moulded from high-temperature fluorosilicone rubber (FVMQ) with a cold-rolled steel carrier (0.25 mm) that prevents over-compression and maintains torque retention.
Material & performance features:
The FVMQ layer resists engine oil, biodiesel, ULSD and coolant mist without swelling or hardening, while the steel carrier prevents blow-out under 12 N m bolt torque. A 0.3 mm compression stop limits bead crush to 30 %, giving a recovery > 90 % after 500 thermal cycles between –30 °C and +250 °C.
