The exhaust valve is manufactured from high-grade 21-4N austenitic heat-resistant stainless steel combined with 4Cr9Si2 martensitic alloy steel, featuring exceptional creep resistance, thermal fatigue strength, and high-temperature oxidation resistance. The 21-4N material (containing 21% chromium, 4% nickel, and nitrogen additions) provides superior hot hardness and corrosion resistance against lead oxide and sulfur compounds present in exhaust gases.
The valve undergoes advanced gas nitriding surface treatment, creating a hardened diffusion layer that significantly improves wear resistance, scuffing resistance, and fatigue life under cyclic high-temperature operating conditions. This surface hardness treatment ensures minimal stem-to-guide wear and maintains precise valve seating geometry over extended service intervals, even when exposed to exhaust gas temperatures exceeding 700°C.
