The 3142H071 intake valve is engineered for Perkins 1103 and 1104 series four-cylinder diesel engines, specifically covering build codes DC, DD, DE, DF, DG, DJ, DK, RE, RF, RG, RH, RJ, RR, RS, RT, XK, and XN. These powerplants are extensively deployed in JCB backhoe loaders (3CX, 4CX series) and telescopic handlers (400, 409 ZX series), Massey Ferguson agricultural tractors (4200, 4300, 6100, 6400, 7400 series), Doosan telescopic lifts (DT, DT 160, DT 210 models), Manitou forklifts, and FG Wilson generator sets producing 60-90 kVA continuous output. The valve also serves Cater C3.3, C4.4, and 3054 engine derivatives used in compact construction equipment and excavators. The intake valve operates in direct-injection diesel environments where intake air temperatures reach 150°C and cylinder pressures exceed 180 bar, providing critical sealing during the intake stroke to ensure optimal air-fuel mixture and combustion efficiency.

The 30° sealing face is precision-ground and lapped to achieve a surface finish Ra < 0.4 μm, ensuring optimal sealing against the intake valve seat insert and preventing charge dilution that reduces engine efficiency and increases emissions.
