The only truly suitable fabric for this yellow heat transfer ink is polyester fabric.
To achieve the brightest and most durable yellow results, keep the following points in mind:
Choose polyester: The higher the polyester content, the better (80% or above is recommended). Higher polyester content results in more vivid colors and better wash fastness.
Light-colored bases are ideal: Yellow achieves its best purity and brightness on white or light-colored polyester fabrics, producing results closest to the original design.
Dark bases create a stylized look: When printing yellow on dark polyester fabrics, the result usually has a vintage or distressed appearance. If a bright, vivid yellow is required on dark fabrics, a white ink underbase is necessary—this cannot be achieved with yellow ink alone.
Strictly avoid: All natural fibers such as 100% cotton, linen, and wool are not compatible. The ink cannot bond properly and will wash out easily.
Q: Your yellow ink looks very vibrant on its own, but the green I print always feels a bit “muddy” and not bright enough. Is this an ink issue?
A:This is likely not an issue with the ink itself, but rather with color mixing and curve settings. In dye-sublimation printing, green is created by mixing yellow and cyan. If the green doesn’t look crisp or vivid, check the following first:
Make sure your design software and printer color management are set to CMYK mode and that you are using our recommended ICC profile.
Try slightly reducing the cyan (C) ink output by about 2–5% in the printer driver, allowing yellow (Y) to play a more dominant role. This adjustment usually produces a brighter, fresher green—closer to grass green or emerald tones. We recommend running small fabric test prints for fine-tuning.
Q: I want to print a bright yellow logo on a black hoodie. Can I do that directly with this yellow ink?

On black or dark polyester fabrics, printing light colors (including yellow) without a base layer will appear semi-transparent and heavily color-shifted. Yellow typically turns into a dull gold or mustard tone rather than a bright yellow. To achieve a vivid yellow on dark fabrics, a proven process requires a white ink underbase—printing a white layer first, then overprinting with yellow. Please confirm whether your printer supports white ink printing.
Q: After long-term wear, will yellow areas fade first around collars or high-friction areas and look unattractive?
A:What you’re describing involves two factors: rub fastness (fading from friction) and light fastness (fading from prolonged exposure to light). This yellow ink has been optimized for both. As long as proper transfer temperature and time are used (ensuring full dye sublimation) and the fabric has a high polyester content (80% or higher recommended), color fastness is reliable. For daily care, we suggest turning garments inside out and using a mild detergent to help maintain color vibrancy.
Q: What role does yellow ink really play in color mixing? I only print CMYK images—do I need to pay special attention to it?
A:Absolutely. Yellow is a critical primary color in the CMYK system and directly determines overall brightness and the purity of many mixed colors. Not only yellow itself, but all greens, oranges, skin tones, and other warm hues rely on clean, vivid yellow for proper mixing. If the yellow is dull or inaccurate, the entire image can look flat, muddy, and lacking transparency. A bright, pure yellow ink is therefore an essential foundation for professional-level color reproduction.
Q: Besides garments, can this yellow ink be used on other products?
A:Yes. Any rigid material coated with a polyester layer can display vibrant yellow results through heat transfer. Examples include light-colored custom mugs, metal plates, phone cases, or coated wood panels. The principle is the same as with fabrics: under high heat, the dye sublimates and penetrates the polymer coating, forming a durable image.
