Traditional waterproofing solutions often sacrifice sound quality to achieve waterproofing. Sandeli's acoustic sound-permeable membrane, through precisely controlled microporous structure, blocks liquid water while allowing sound waves to pass through with almost no loss. Measured acoustic loss is below 1dB, with a flat frequency response, effectively avoiding issues such as muffled or distorted sound.

A TWS earphone brand encountered a challenge during new product development: the earphones passed IPX5 testing but failed IPX7 (1 meter for 30 minutes). Disassembly revealed that the microphone port was the water ingress point. An outdoor Bluetooth speaker manufacturer needed to achieve IP67 waterproofing, but after adding sealing rings, bass response was severely compromised, with frequency response attenuation exceeding 5dB below 200Hz. After switching to Sandeli's waterproof acoustic membrane (diameter 18mm, membrane thickness 0.05mm, insertion loss <1.5dB @ 1kHz), the product passed waterproof testing, and the frequency response curve remained flat across the 100Hz–10kHz range, with bass performance essentially identical to the unprotected state.
Sandeli's waterproof acoustic membrane has an insertion loss of ≤2dB @ 1kHz, which is nearly imperceptible to the human ear. The ePTFE microporous structure of the waterproof acoustic membrane blocks liquid water ingress while allowing sound waves to pass through efficiently, thanks to its extremely thin membrane thickness (0.02mm–0.15mm) and low impedance characteristics. The membrane's pore size ranges from approximately 0.1 to 5 microns—far smaller than water droplets but permitting sound wave vibration transmission—achieving excellent acoustic performance with sound transmission >90%.
