Shenzhen Sandeli Precision Technology Co., Ltd. produces ePTFE waterproof acoustic membranes using expanded polytetrafluoroethylene microporous film manufactured through a precision stretching process. The membrane thickness is controlled between 0.02mm and 0.15mm, achieving IP67/IP68 waterproof ratings while delivering excellent sound wave transmission performance. The acoustic attenuation is ≤2dB (at 1kHz), ensuring that the pickup and output quality of microphones, speakers, and other acoustic devices remain unaffected by the protective layer. The product is available in roll stock, sheet stock, and custom die-cut with adhesive backing, widely used in consumer and industrial acoustic devices including smartphones, TWS earphones, smart speakers, hearing aids, and walkie-talkies.
A TWS earphone brand encountered a challenge during new product development: the earphones passed IPX5 testing but failed IPX7 (1 meter for 30 minutes). Disassembly revealed that the microphone port was the water ingress point. After installing Sandeli's waterproof acoustic membrane (diameter 3.5mm, membrane thickness 0.03mm) at the microphone port, the earphones passed IPX7 testing, and call noise cancellation performance remained unaffected. This project has entered mass production, with monthly usage exceeding 500,000 pieces.
An outdoor Bluetooth speaker manufacturer needed to achieve IP67 waterproofing, but after adding sealing rings, bass response was severely compromised, with frequency response attenuation exceeding 5dB below 200Hz. After switching to Sandeli's waterproof acoustic membrane (diameter 18mm, membrane thickness 0.05mm, insertion loss <1.5dB @ 1kHz), the product passed waterproof testing, and the frequency response curve remained flat across the 100Hz–10kHz range, with bass performance essentially identical to the unprotected state.
