Front Right-Hand (RH) Door Latch for 2023+ Tesla Model 3 | 1738945-01-D (CFN Brand)
This front right-hand (RH) door latch (part number 1738945-01-D) is an OEM-matching electro-mechanical component for 2023+ Tesla Model 3 (all variants). It integrates into the front right door’s inner frame, working with the 2023+ Model 3’s updated door hardware (electronic exterior handle, central locking module) to control door operation, aligning with Tesla’s latest safety logic.
Core Functions
Secure Locking/Unlocking: Syncs with the BCM to execute commands from key fob, touchscreen, or exterior handle. When locked, it engages the stainless steel striker to prevent accidental opening; when unlocked, it releases smoothly for easy access.
Reliable Operation: Features a high-torque solenoid (responds in ≤0.3s) and mechanical linkage. The interior handle has a backup mechanical system for electrical failures. It also has a “half-latch” function—catching the striker if the door isn’t closed and triggering a dashboard alert.
Safety Protection: Auto-locks during collisions to avoid occupant ejection; has a hidden manual pull tab for emergencies. Coordinates with the anti-pinch sensor to reverse closing if resistance is detected.
Durable Construction
Mechanical Part: Main body uses glass-fiber reinforced PA66 (tensile strength ≥85MPa); moving parts (pawl, ratchet) are hardened steel (HRC ≥52), supporting 60,000+ opening cycles.
Electronics: Solenoid with copper coils (insulation class B, 130°C resistance); Hall-effect sensor (accuracy ≤0.8%) for real-time status feedback.
Sealing: IP6K7 gaskets and waterproof connectors block water/dust; tolerates -40°C to 90°C, resisting salt corrosion.
Installation
Power off, disconnect 12V battery, remove front right inner door panel (detach clips, disconnect wiring/cables).
Remove old latch: disconnect connector/cables, take out 3×10mm bolts, and pull it away.
Clean the mounting surface, check the striker (tighten or replace if needed).
Align 1738945-01-D, reconnect connector/cables, hand-tighten bolts, then torque to 8±0.5 Nm.
Reconnect battery, reinstall panel, test locking/unlocking, anti-pinch, and clear BCM codes.
Note: Front RH-specific—do not interchange with other latches (e.g., 1738944-01-D).
