Installation

1. Vehicle Preparation: Lift the front left side of the vehicle with jack stands (ensure stable support); remove the front left wheel to access the wheel well easily. Peel back the front fender’s lower trim (if needed) to expose the wheel well’s mounting points.
2. Old Liner Removal: Use a trim tool to gently detach the plastic snap clips and 8mm bolts securing the old liner to the front fender, bumper, and underbody frame (typically 9–11 fasteners total: 6 clips + 5 bolts). Note the position of each fastener to avoid misplacement, then pull the old liner away (take care not to damage adjacent components like the fender trim or brake lines).
3. Cleaning: Wipe the wheel well’s mounting surface with a dry cloth to remove dust, mud, or residual adhesive—ensuring a tight fit for the new assembly.
4. New Assembly Installation: Align 1694553-00-E with the wheel well’s mounting points (ensure the liner’s edges fit snugly against the front bumper and fender). Snap the plastic clips into place (listen for a “click” to confirm security), then hand-tighten the 8mm bolts to avoid cross-threading.
5. Torque Fastening: Use a torque wrench to tighten the bolts to 4±0.3 Nm (per Tesla’s 2023+ Model 3 service specs)—over-tightening may crack the liner’s plastic mounting tabs.
6. Post-Installation Check: Reinstall the front left wheel, lower the vehicle, and inspect the wheel well from the side. Confirm the liner is flush with the fender and bumper, with no gaps that could allow debris entry.
