Product Overview

The ELEVANDI ABSS Anti-Lock Rear Drum Brake Lock series is designed for shared e-bikes, rental vehicles and OEM fleet platforms that need rear-wheel braking and vehicle-controlled wheel locking in one matched assembly. Each model combines expansion-brake performance, an electronic lock, Hall speed sensing and a mechanical locking-safety layer at the rear hub or rear motor left side.

Three models support different project priorities. ABSS3716 is the lightweight 95 mm direction with 3 magnets per ring and >=160 N.m lock-structure torque resistance. ABSS3725 retains the 95 mm brake diameter and >=160 N.m resistance while using four evenly distributed magnets for projects that specify that sensing layout. ABSS3708 moves to a 110 mm brake structure and >=300 N.m resistance for higher-demand fleet applications.

Across the series, 5V-60V DC, project-selected UART/RS485/CAN/I2C interfaces, project-defined electronic protection speed, a 30 RPM mechanical safety locking condition, OTA support and an IPX7 lock core provide a consistent engineering basis. RoHS / REACH and public validation media are confirmed for all three models.

Technical Advantages / How It Works

During braking, the expansion-brake mechanism applies the brake shoes against the internal braking surface to generate rear-wheel braking. This expansion-brake performance is evaluated in accordance with ISO 4210-2015, while electronic-lock integration and complete-vehicle validation are confirmed within the OEM project.

For locking, the selected vehicle controller sends a lock or unlock command through the project interface. Hall speed sensing supplies wheel-movement information for the project-defined electronic protection strategy. A separate 30 RPM mechanical safety locking condition helps suppress unintended engagement outside the intended locking range. The protection architecture focuses on lock engagement and operates independently from the mechanical braking action.

Applications

The series is intended for shared e-bikes, rental e-bikes, public mobility vehicles and OEM rear-wheel platforms that need a fixed brake-lock component, vehicle-side communication and project-defined locking safety. Model selection depends on brake diameter, sensing layout, required lock-structure resistance and rear-wheel packaging.

OEM / Service Support

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between ABSS3716, ABSS3725 and ABSS3708? A: ABSS3716 is the 95 mm, 3-magnet, >=160 N.m lightweight direction. ABSS3725 is the 95 mm, 4-magnet, >=160 N.m direction. ABSS3708 is the 110 mm, 3-magnet, >=300 N.m heavy-duty direction.

Q: Does Anti-Lock mean bicycle braking ABS? A: No. It describes electronic and mechanical protection against unintended lock engagement while the wheel is moving outside the intended locking range. It does not modulate brake pressure.

Q: What does the 30 RPM value mean? A: It is the mechanical safety locking condition. The corresponding vehicle speed depends on wheel diameter and must be considered during complete-vehicle matching.

Q: What do the 160 N.m and 300 N.m values describe? A: They are lock-structure torque-resistance values, not braking torque, motor torque, vehicle load or a complete security grade.

Q: Does the series include the rear hub or axle? A: No. The published parameter scope excludes the hub and hub axle. The final project BOM confirms any additional parts.
