Methanol catalytic dehydration method Methanol vapor is dehydrated in the gas phase at 350-400℃ and 1.4709MPa through aluminum phosphate catalyst.
Methyl ethre is mainly used as a methylating agent to produce dimethyl sulfate, and can also be used to synthesize N,N-dimethylaniline, methyl acetate, acetic anhydride, ethylene dimethyl ester and ethylene; it can also be used as a refrigerant, foaming agent, solvent, leaching agent, extractant, civilian composite ethanol and Freon aerosol substitute, used in hair care, skin care, medicine and coating, as a variety of aerosol propellants. Fuel additives promoted abroad have many unique uses in the pharmaceutical, dye and pesticide industries.
The property is weaker than ethre. When the concentration is below 7.5mg/L, it can cause mild discomfort to the human body, anesthesia can occur in 23min, and loss of consciousness after 26min. Methanol dehydration method is one of the main methods for producing dimethyl ethre.
