Manual starters are devices operated manually, designed for simple and straightforward operation without requiring expert intervention. These starters feature a button or rotary knob that enables users to turn connected equipment on or off through mechanical linkages that open or close contacts.
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or traditional key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers power from the battery to the starter motor, activating both the motor and the starter drive (Bendix gear system). The mechanism then engages the vehicle's flywheel, cranking the engine to initiate combustion in petrol and diesel vehicles.
Once the engine is running, the starter motor automatically disengages from the gear and flywheel as the engine no longer requires the electrical spark to maintain operation.
