Installation Note
The oil pump is typically located inside the timing gear case or oil pan. When installing a new oil pump on a Yanmar 4TNV94 engine, it is critical to ensure proper priming before startup to avoid dry running damage.
Always inspect the oil pickup tube O-ring and screen for debris during installation. Professional installation is recommended due to the precision required for proper alignment and sealing. Regular oil changes with the correct viscosity oil (typically 10W-30 or 15W-40 API CI-4 or higher) will extend the life of both the oil pump and the engine.
