The PDC Core Bit, also known as a Polycrystalline Diamond Compact Core Bit, is designed for geological core drilling, mineral exploration, geotechnical investigation and rock sampling applications.
The cutting crown uses polycrystalline diamond compact cutters positioned around the bit face. These cutters shear the formation during rotation, helping provide efficient penetration, consistent cutting performance and good wear resistance under suitable drilling conditions.
Unlike an impregnated diamond core bit, which contains diamond particles throughout the matrix crown, a PDC core bit uses individual PDC cutting elements fixed to the crown. This design can provide a high penetration rate and long service life when the cutter configuration is correctly matched to the formation.
Brighttop Global Co., Ltd. can provide PDC core bits with different outside diameters, inside diameters, cutter arrangements, waterway configurations and thread connections. Selection should be based on formation hardness, abrasiveness, fracture conditions, drilling speed, water flow and the type of core drilling equipment.
Epiroc includes PDC coring bits in its conventional core-drilling range and positions them for selected non-consolidated, medium-to-hard rock conditions. Actual suitability depends on the cutter design and drilling environment.
