A: Typical service life: 310S – 200–300 cycles; 1.4849 – 400–600 cycles. Life depends on temperature, load weight, and maintenance. Regular cleaning (every 50–80 cycles) and avoiding overloading extend life significantly.
Q2: What material do you recommend for a 930°C carburizing furnace with oil quench?
A: For 930°C with oil quench, we recommend 1.4849. It offers the best combination of creep strength, anti-carburization, and thermal shock resistance. 310S is acceptable for lower loads or shorter cycles but will have shorter life.
Q3: How do I prevent the basket from cracking due to thermal shock?
A: FH® baskets are designed with thermal shock in mind: stress-relieved welds, rounded corners, and ductile alloys. To maximize life, avoid quenching the basket empty (load should cover the basket surface) and ensure even part distribution.
