Radiant Panel Flame Spread Test Machine with ISO 5658
Introduction:
IMO thermal radiation flame propagation tester is used for the combustion characteristics of building materials, high-speed train materials, and ship materials, and measures the flame spread speed, ignition heat, and total heat release according to distance and CEF (critical thermal radiation flux).
This test method is used to evaluate the combustion characteristics of vertically mounted test objects according to ISO 5658-2 and IMO Res.. 653. It also meets the GB/T 28752-2012 flame lateral spread test method on vertical surfaces. The test object is exposed to the appropriate heat dissipation area given by the heat plate gas combustion type, and then, when the combustion occurs, the signal value is measured in mV using a calibrated thermocouple. In addition, the ignition time is also recorded, and the flame burning time of the object under test is recorded according to the distance of the test object, and the flame spread speed is also recorded. Other test items include ignition heat (MJ/m2), continuous combustion heat (MJ/m2), critical thermal radiation flux (kW/m2), continuous combustion average heat, and total heat release (kW).

EN ISO 5658-2 Flame Spread Test Machine -- test principle:
The sample method consists of two parts: exposing the sample to an area with a clearly calibrated radiation flux; measuring the ignition time, flame spread, and final extinction time.
The test sample is placed in a vertical position, adjacent to the radiation panel, and exposed to an area with a clearly calibrated radiation flux. The ignition flame approaches the test sample but does not touch the test sample, and the heated end of the sample is ignited by the evaporated gas on the surface.
After ignition, the development of the flame front is recorded, and the time it takes for the flame front to burn horizontally on the sample surface to reach each calibrated distance is recorded.
