10kV Medium Cable XLPE/PE/PVC Insulation 16mm 35mm 95mm Overhead Insulated Power Cable
10kV overhead insulated power cable is a core medium-voltage transmission cable specially designed for overhead power distribution scenarios, mainly used in 10kV power grid transmission and distribution projects. It is composed of conductor, insulation layer and optional protective layer, with the characteristics of light weight, convenient erection, strong weather resistance and high operation safety. The product provides XLPE, PE, PVC three insulation material options, and focuses on 16mm², 35mm², 95mm² three core cross-sectional specifications, which are widely used in urban and rural power grid transformation, industrial parks, agricultural irrigation and other overhead power supply scenarios, effectively solving the safety hazards of traditional bare overhead wires and ensuring stable and efficient power transmission
1. Conductor – Stranded Hard Copper / Aluminum
Material options: High-purity hard copper (resistivity ≤0.017241 Ω·mm²/m) or aluminum (lightweight, cost-effective). Both comply with IEC 60228 Class 2. Good tensile strength for overhead spans.
Structure: Concentric stranded, smooth surface, uniform current distribution, no local overheating.
Key cross-sections (10kV overhead):
16 mm² – Branch lines, rural/small-area supply.
35 mm² – Medium capacity lines (industrial parks, urban distribution).
95 mm² – Main lines (grids, large agricultural/industrial loads).
2. Insulation – Three Options (XLPE / PE / PVC)
All comply with GB/T 14049-2008 for 10kV.
XLPE – Working temp: 90°C (normal), 250°C (short-circuit ≤5s). – Low dielectric loss, high insulation resistance, excellent weather/aging resistance. – Preferred for harsh outdoor, long-distance 10kV lines.
PE – Working temp: 70°C. Lightweight, low cost, moisture-resistant. – Suitable for short spans, rural lines, urban branches.
PVC – Working temp: 70°C. Flame-retardant, acid/alkali resistant. – Suitable for general outdoor use (avoid prolonged direct sun), e.g., workshop overhead lines, short urban branches.
3. Optional Outer Sheath (Weather‑Resistant)
Material: Weather‑resistant PVC or PE.
Function: Enhances UV resistance, abrasion resistance (sand/wind). Extends cable life in high UV, windy, or long‑span overhead environments.
Application
Combined with the characteristics of 10kV voltage level, three insulation materials and three core cross-sectional specifications, the product is widely used in various overhead power transmission and distribution scenarios, focusing on practical application scenarios:
Urban and Rural Power Grid Transformation: As the main cable for 10kV overhead power distribution, it replaces traditional bare wires, improves the safety of power supply, and is suitable for urban main roads, rural villages and towns power grid upgrading projects.
Industrial Parks and Workshops: 35mm² and 95mm² specifications are mainly used for overhead power transmission between workshops and power supply for large-scale equipment; 16mm² is used for branch lines of small equipment, which is convenient for overhead erection and saves space.
Agricultural Irrigation Projects: Suitable for overhead power supply of agricultural irrigation pumps, electric fencing and other equipment in rural areas. PE and PVC insulation options are cost-effective, and 16mm² and 35mm² specifications can meet the power demand of most agricultural equipment.
Public Facilities and Residential Areas: Overhead power supply for residential districts, schools, hospitals and other public places, optional XLPE insulation for better weather resistance, ensuring stable power supply for residents and public equipment.
Renewable Energy Projects: Used for overhead transmission of electric energy generated by small wind power and solar energy projects, 35mm² and 95mm² specifications can meet the transmission demand of medium and large capacity renewable energy
