Si3N4 Nozzle Silicon Nitride Ceramics Oxidation Resistance High Toughness
Silicon nitride nozzles and covers feature oxidation resistance, high temperature strength and minimal sputter adhesion, significantly extending the service life of welding components.
Among the five silicon nitride production methods, Gas Pressure Sintering (GPS) is most commonly used for manufacturing Si3N4 components:
Gas pressure sintering of silicon nitride is performed at 1-10 MPa pressure and approximately 2000°C. The high nitrogen pressure prevents silicon nitride pyrolysis. This high-temperature sintering process enables Si3N4 grain growth with minimal sintering aids, producing high-toughness ceramics with long columnar grains and in-situ growth density exceeding 99%. The resulting material offers high toughness, strength, and wear resistance, allowing direct production of complex-shaped products that minimize production and processing costs.
