Product Specification

High Light alumina ceramic microfiltration membraneporous ceramic membrane for filtrationmicrofiltration ceramic membrane with alumina
Product Overview

Alumina Microfiltration Ceramic Membranes are high-performance inorganic filtration elements manufactured from high-purity α-alumina (Al₂O₃) through precision extrusion, advanced ceramic forming, and high-temperature sintering technology.

The membrane adopts a multi-layer asymmetric structure consisting of a porous support layer, transition layer, and precision separation layer. This optimized architecture combines excellent mechanical strength with high permeability, allowing stable operation under demanding industrial conditions while maintaining precise particle separation.

Designed for microfiltration (MF) applications, alumina ceramic membranes are available with pore sizes ranging from 0.1 μm to 5 μm, making them suitable for removing suspended solids, bacteria, fine particles, and emulsified substances from a wide variety of process liquids.

Compared with conventional polymeric membranes, alumina ceramic membranes provide significantly longer service life, superior chemical resistance, higher operating temperatures, and excellent cleaning performance, making them an ideal solution for continuous industrial filtration.

Key Features & Benefits
High Filtration Flux

The asymmetric pore structure minimizes flow resistance while maintaining high separation efficiency, resulting in excellent permeate flux and lower operating costs.

Outstanding Chemical Resistance

Alumina ceramic membranes exhibit excellent resistance to:

  • Strong acids
  • Strong alkalis
  • Oxidizing chemicals
  • Organic solvents

They can operate reliably in highly corrosive industrial environments where polymer membranes may rapidly degrade.

Excellent Mechanical Strength

Manufactured from dense ceramic materials, the membrane offers:

  • High compressive strength
  • Excellent abrasion resistance
  • Superior pressure resistance
  • Stable dimensional accuracy

The robust ceramic structure withstands frequent backwashing and long-term continuous operation.

High Temperature Resistance

Unlike organic membranes, alumina ceramic membranes can operate at elevated temperatures and tolerate steam sterilization, making them suitable for demanding industrial processes.

Maximum recommended operating temperature:

≤350°C

Excellent Fouling Resistance

The smooth ceramic surface reduces the adhesion of contaminants and allows efficient removal of deposited materials during cleaning.

The membrane supports:

  • Chemical cleaning
  • High-pressure backwashing
  • Hot water cleaning
  • Steam sterilization

allowing stable long-term performance with minimal flux decline.

Long Service Life

Because the ceramic structure is highly resistant to chemical attack and mechanical wear, alumina microfiltration membranes typically offer a significantly longer operational lifetime than polymeric membranes, helping reduce replacement frequency and maintenance costs.

Available Pore Sizes

Standard microfiltration pore sizes include:

  • 0.1 μm
  • 0.2 μm
  • 0.5 μm
  • 0.8 μm
  • 1.2 μm
  • 5 μm

Custom pore sizes are available upon request for specific separation requirements.
