Si3N4 silicon nitride forming rollers are engineered for roll forming machines that manufacture complex variable sections with high profitability. These forming rollers for plastic forming significantly reduce metal adhesion to the rollers, resulting in enhanced product quality.
Gas Pressure Sintering (GPS) Technology
Among the five methods of silicon nitride production, GPSN is the most commonly used for manufacturing Si3N4 components. Gas pressure sintering of silicon nitride occurs at pressures of 1 to 10 MPa and temperatures around 2000°C. The high nitrogen pressure effectively suppresses silicon nitride pyrolysis. This high-temperature sintering process promotes Si3N4 grain growth with minimal sintering aids, producing high-toughness ceramics with long columnar grains and in-situ growth density exceeding 99%. The resulting material offers exceptional toughness, strength, and abrasion resistance, enabling direct production of complex shaped products close to final dimensions, which substantially reduces both production and processing costs.
