Soft Gel Application of Edible Gelatin Powder / Pharma Grade Soft Gel Gelatin​

Beyond Biopharma produced Pharma grade gelatin used to produce soft gels. Our gelatin is produced from strictly controlled high quality bovine hindes and skins.Due to the inclusion of plasticizers, medium-wet medicinal gelatin can be well applied to the production of soft capsule vesicles by rotary molding.

Application of Gelatin in the production of soft gels :

1. Soft capsules, also known as soft gels, are single-layer, highly sealed capsules. The soft capsule capsule is prepared from medicinal gelatin, water, plasticizer (glycerin, sorbitol, etc.) in different proportions, and the capsule is elastic and flexible. The use of pigments and sunscreens is primarily based on customer requirements and the characteristics of the drug.

2. Due to the inclusion of plasticizers, medium-wet medicinal gelatin can be well applied to the production of soft capsule vesicles by rotary molding.

3. In this process, the injection of the contents of the drug or pharmaceutically active ingredient and the formation of the capsule cavity are simultaneous. The rotary molding method firstly forms two strip-shaped films by freezing, the two films are moved from the two sides to the middle, and some are pressure-bonded, while the medicine is poured into the capsule between the two films by a filling pump, and then Rotary molding into capsules. Soft capsules (moisture should be controlled below 6%) generally use cage drying and tunnel drying methods, drying conditions: temperature 20oC, relative humidity 25% RH. In the soft capsule production process, the drying process is a long and critical process (drying time is up to one week).

4. Medium-wet alkali gelatin (type B) and medium-fat acid gelatin (type A) can be used to make gelatin soft capsules.
