Common Installation & Operation Q&A
Q1: The PLC fails to power on after installation, even though the power supply is connected. What's the issue?
First, check if your power supply voltage matches the PLC's requirement of DC 24V ±10%. Verify wiring terminals for loose connections or wrong polarity. Ensure the power supply has adequate load capacity.
Q2: Why do the digital inputs (DI) not respond to sensor signals?
Most cases involve sensor type mismatch. The XL1-16T uses NPN-type DI by default - PNP sensors require the XL1-16T-U model or signal conversion. Adjust DI filtering time through programming software for noisy environments.
Q3: The transistor outputs (DO) can't drive external actuators. What should I do?
Remember that transistor outputs have a rated load of DC 24V/0.5A per point. For higher current requirements, add intermediate relays. For inductive loads, always connect freewheeling diodes for protection.
Q4: The RS485 communication port can't establish connection with HMIs or other devices. How to troubleshoot?
Confirm communication parameters match (baud rate, parity, data bits, stop bits). Check wiring - RS485 uses two wires (A/B) that are commonly swapped. For long-distance wiring, add 120Ω terminal resistors at both bus ends.
