Steel Wire Mesh Reinforced HDPE Pipe For Seawater Desalination And Marine Engineering Pipeline Systems
Steel Mesh Reinforced Polyethylene (SRTP) Composite Pipe is an advanced composite pipeline solution purpose-engineered for the extreme corrosion challenges of seawater handling, desalination facilities, and marine infrastructure. The complete encapsulation of a high-strength steel mesh reinforcement within chemically inert HDPE layers creates a pipeline that delivers the pressure capacity of steel while providing indefinite service life in the most aggressive marine environments.
Manufactured through a continuous one-step co-extrusion process, the pipe integrates a helically wound, precision-perforated steel mesh skeleton permanently bonded within inner and outer polyethylene layers. This seamless composite architecture eliminates all metallic surface exposure to seawater and marine atmosphere, providing absolute immunity to the chloride pitting, crevice corrosion, galvanic coupling, and microbiologically influenced corrosion that destroy conventional metallic seawater piping within years of commissioning.
Marine & Seawater Applications
Seawater Desalination Plants: Seawater intake pipelines from open-sea intakes to reverse osmosis facilities, brine concentrate disposal outfalls, and internal plant process piping for both thermal (MED/MSF) and membrane (SWRO) desalination technologies.
Coastal Power Station Cooling: Once-through and recirculating cooling water intake and discharge systems for thermal, nuclear, and combined-cycle power plants located on coastal and estuarine sites.
Seaport & Harbor Infrastructure: Firefighting water mains, fresh water supply, and wastewater collection networks within seaport terminals, container yards, and cruise ship berthing facilities subject to saline groundwater and airborne salt spray.
Shipbuilding & Vessel Systems: Marine sewage and grey water piping, ballast water treatment and transfer lines, engine room cooling water circuits, and deck wash-down systems on commercial vessels and offshore platforms.
Aquaculture & Mariculture: Seawater supply and recirculation networks for land-based fish farms, shrimp hatcheries, shellfish depuration facilities, and marine research laboratories requiring corrosion-free water handling.
Offshore Platform Utility Systems: Firewater ring mains, potable water distribution, drainage collection, and seawater lift pump discharge headers on fixed and floating offshore production and drilling installations.
Marine Brine & Salt Chemical Transport: Concentrated brine conveyance for saltworks, chlor-alkali plants, and mineral extraction facilities processing seawater-derived brines with absolute resistance to hot concentrated salt solutions.
Coastal Erosion & Reclamation: Sand slurry and dredge spoil pipelines for beach nourishment, land reclamation, and coastal protection projects where the internal abrasion from sand and external corrosion from seawater demand a dual-resistant piping solution.
