The DP-D80 Doppler Velocity Log (DVL) is a high-precision underwater navigation instrument based on the Doppler effect. Designed for Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), surface vessels, and marine platforms, it provides real-time 3D velocity measurements and bottom-altitude data. The device can operate independently or integrate with an Inertial Navigation System (INS) for enhanced accuracy and reliability.
Key Features
High Accuracy: Velocity measurement accuracy better than 2‰ ± 2 mm/s; depth measurement error 1% ± 1.2 m.
Wide Measurement Range: Speed range from -15 kn to +15 kn; depth range 0.5 m – 80 m.
Pressure Resistant: Operates under water pressure up to 3.6 MPa.
Low Power Consumption: Average ≤25 W; peak ≤140 W.
Modular Design: Independent electronic unit and transducer for flexible installation.
Reliable Communication: Supports RS422 and RS232 interfaces with RDI PD6 protocol for robust, verified data output.
Core Functions
Real-Time 3D Velocity Measurement: Measures velocity along X, Y, and Z axes.
Bottom-Altitude Sensing: Provides accurate distance to seabed for safe underwater navigation.
Self-Diagnostics & Status Monitoring: Monitors transducer depth and system health in real time.
Data Compatibility: PD6 data format ensures seamless integration with computers or INS for data fusion.
Advantages
High Reliability: Robust waterproof and sealed design for long-term underwater operation.
Easy Operation: Quick configuration and monitoring via dedicated debug interfaces.
Flexible Deployment: Can operate standalone or in combination with INS for enhanced navigation.
Environmentally Resistant: Operates in -10°C to +50°C; storage range -40°C to +70°C.
