Installation Procedure
Depressurize the air system - Drain all air pressure from the brake system
Access the valve - Loe the foot brake valve (usually mounted on the firewall or under the cab floor, connected to the brake pedal linkage)
Mark air lines - Tag or mark all air lines connected to the old valve to ensure correct reinstallation
Disconnect air lines - Carefully remove air lines from the valve ports
Disconnect pedal linkage - Remove the clevis pin or linkage connecting the brake pedal to the valve
Remove mounting bolts - Unbolt the old foot brake valve from its bracket
Clean mounting surface - Remove debris and old sealant
Apply thread sealant - Coat threads with pipe sealant prior to installation
Install new valve - Position the new foot brake valve and secure with mounting bolts
Reconnect pedal linkage - Attach the clevis pin and secure with a new cotter pin
Reconnect air lines - Install air lines to the correct ports as marked during removal
Re-pressurize the system - Gradually build air pressure and check for leaks using soapy water
Test brake operation - Apply and release brakes to verify proper pedal feel and response
Adjust pedal free play - If necessary, adjust the linkage to achieve the correct pedal travel (refer to service manual)
