As a metal bath apparatus, it is suitable for determining the drop point of grease according to the provisions of GB/T3498.
The testing procedure involves placing the grease into a specialized grease cup equipped with a drop point thermometer. Under specified heating conditions, the temperature at which the first drop of liquid from the sample in the grease cup occurs is defined as the drop point.
