High-Reliability Traveling Bridge Clarifier System for Industrial Wastewater Treatment
Product Overview
Designed for rectangular clarifiers in wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) and water treatment plants (WTPs), the traveling bridge suction clarifier efficiently sweeps and extracts settled sludge via pump suction ports. It features a compact structure, highly reliable operation, and integrated auto-control with overload protection.
Drive configurations vary by rail span, utilizing a central drive for spans under 4m, and dual synchronized drives for spans over 6m.

The traveling bridge suction clarifier primarily consists of a working bridge, suction pipes, discharge pipes, submersible sludge pumps, drive mechanisms, control panel, rails, and a festoon cable system. The four-point supported bridge spans the rectangular clarifier and is equipped with synchronized dual drives on the rails.
During operation, the clarifier travels uniformly from one end of the tank to the other, simultaneously extracting sludge. Upon triggering the terminal limit switch, it automatically reverses direction and continues suctioning on the return trip, completing a bidirectional working cycle.
Operation Guide
Cycle Logic: Home position is at the outlet. Open valves, travel to the inlet, and auto-return to complete one cycle
Control: Manual start. Reversing and stopping are automated via limit switches
Important Operating Guidelines:
Do not let sludge sit for more than 2 days (prevents clogging)
If sludge has solidified for over 4 days, do not operate - tank must be manually cleaned to prevent structural damage
Winter operation is strictly prohibited if the water surface is frozen
Keep the tank clear of hard debris (bricks, etc.) to prevent catastrophic damage to suction nozzles
Installation Guide
For proper operation, the four wheels must align perfectly on a rectangular path. Both rails must be strictly parallel and leveled on the same horizontal plane.
Installation Steps
Embed steel plates (1m spacing) on top of both side walls. Use bolts and clamps on each plate to securely fasten the rails
Hoist the equipment onto the tank, place wheels on the rails, level according to the reference line, and verify dimensions
Cable & Electricals: Mount the festoon cable on a tensioned wire rope fixed between pillars. Connect the main power, test traveling motion, install limit switches and trip blocks, and mount anti-derailment baffles
Dry Run: Run continuously for at least 8 hours. Monitor closely for any derailment (skewing). Stop immediately if found to prevent equipment failure
Install the sludge suction pumps on the working bridge
Install piping and nozzles downwards from the pump inlet, keeping a 10-20mm clearance from the tank bottom. Manifold all pumps into one main pipe discharging to the external trench
Connect power supply to the sludge suction pumps
Wet Run: Fill the tank until water is 30mm above the pump heads. Start the pumps while filling and observe the sludge discharge flow
