Charging
Correct Settings: Set the charger to: LiPo Balance Charge, Cell Count: 4S, Voltage: 17.4V (4.35V/cell for HV). Never charge as a standard 14.8V (4.20V/cell) pack.
Supervised Charging: Never leave batteries charging unattended. Charge in a fire-resistant container (LiPo safety bag) on a non-flammable surface, away from flammable materials.
Charge Current: Do not exceed the manufacturer's specified limit. 1C (3.85A) is standard and safe. 2C (7.7A) may be acceptable if specified.
Discharging
Temperature Management: Discontinue use if the battery pack exceeds 60°C (140°F). Allow it to cool completely before handling or recharging.
Short Circuit Prevention: Always insulate terminals when not in use. Use connectors carefully to avoid accidental shorting, which can cause instant, severe fires.
Damage Inspection: Before and after each use, inspect for physical damage: dents, swelling, punctures, or leaking electrolyte. IMMEDIATELY DISCONTINUE USE of any damaged or swollen/puffy battery.
Storage
Storage Environment: Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and flammable items.
Transportation: When transporting (e.g., to a flying field), place each battery in an individual LiPo safety bag. Protect terminals with caps or tape.
End-of-Life Disposal: Do not discard with household waste. To safely dispose, fully discharge (e.g., in a saltwater bath for several days), then take to a designated battery recycling facility.
