Q:What is solar water heater and how does it work? The solar water heater is a system consisting of flat plates or vacuum tubes that use solar radiation to heat water. A solar water heater is formed by collecting flat plates or vacuum tubes. There is also a water storage tank attached to these flat plates or tubes. The flat plates or tubes are heated by the sun and the material that composes them dissipates heat to the water that passes through the heater. This water is stored in a water tank or can be used on the spot, such as swimming pool hot water.
