Using eight active fibers in a Type-B crossover topology with OM4 fiber, this cable achieves full reach while maintaining signal integrity. With angled physical contact (APC) 8-degree polish, back reflections are minimized to ≥35dB return loss, critical for PAM4 modulation at 800Gb/s.

Technology & Signal Integrity
Designed for 800G DR8 / 400G DR4 architectures, each cable contains 8 multimode fibers arranged in a crossed pinout. The 8-degree APC interface reduces optical return loss to >35dB, critical for high baud rate transceivers. The passive design consumes zero power and introduces no latency, making it ideal for switch-to-switch or switch-to-DPU links in NDR InfiniBand fabrics.
OM4 fiber (effective modal bandwidth ≥4700 MHz*km) provides the necessary bandwidth to support 50G PAM4 per lane over 50 meters while maintaining low bit error rates.

A: Yes, when used with NVIDIA MMA4Z00-NS transceivers and two patch panels (4 mated pairs), the 50m link is within the specified optical budget. OM4 fiber is required for this distance.
Q2: Can I use OM3 fiber instead of OM4 for 50m?
A: No. OM3 fiber supports 800G only up to 30 meters. For 50m, OM4 is mandatory to maintain signal integrity and meet the loss budget.
Q3: What is the difference between MFP7E10-N050 and MFP7E20-N050?

Handling Precautions
  • Do not remove dust caps until the moment of installation. Contamination is the #1 cause of link degradation, especially at 50m distances.
  • Always clean both cable connector and transceiver optical receptacle using an MPO-APC specific cleaner before insertion.
  • Do not bend the cable tighter than 30 mm radius, particularly near connectors where stress can increase insertion loss.
  • Never mix MPO-APC (green/slanted) with MPO-UPC (blue/flat) -- physical damage will occur.
  • Comply with standard ESD precautions when handling pluggable transceivers, although the cable itself is passive.
  • For 50m deployments, ensure cable pathways do not exceed bend radius limits to maintain optical performance.
