Ideal for top-of-rack switching, inter-rack connectivity, and high-density data center deployments, the MFA1A00 series offers programmable retiming, input equalization, and output pre-emphasis to optimize link performance in diverse environments.
Technology & Signal Integrity
The MFA1A00-C050 employs advanced retiming and equalization features to overcome channel impairments. Each lane integrates a clock and data recovery (CDR) circuit that can be bypassed for legacy or lower signaling rates. The programmable transmitter input equalizer compensates for host PCB losses, while the programmable receiver output amplitude and pre-emphasis ensure clean signal delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Is MFA1A00-C050 compatible with my Cisco 100G switch?
A: The cable is standard QSFP28 AOC. Most modern Cisco switches (Nexus 9300, 9500) with 100GbE ports will recognize it. However, for full Cisco IDPROM compatibility, we recommend verifying or request coding service.
Q2: What is the difference between retiming and non-retiming operation?
A: Retiming re-synchronizes and cleans the signal using CDR, achieving better signal quality for 25Gb/s per lane. If lower data rates are used (e.g., 10Gb/s), CDR can be bypassed to save power (down to ~1.5W).
Q3: Can I use this cable for 40GbE or breakout applications?
A: The MFA1A00 series supports 100Gb/s as four 25G lanes; it is not intended for 40GbE breakouts. For 4×25G breakout (QSFP28 to four SFP28), check other NVIDIA AOC products.
