Product Overview
The MMS4X00-NS400 is a single-port OSFP transceiver supporting both InfiniBand NDR and 400GbE protocols with auto-detection. Its flat-top housing mates with ConnectX-7 adapter riding heatsinks, utilizing a single MPO-12/APC optical connector with four transmit and four receive fibers powered by 1310nm EML lasers.

  • Switch-to-Adapter at 400G: Connect twin-port 800G transceiver in Quantum-2 or Spectrum-4 switch to two MMS4X00-NS400 transceivers using straight MFP7E30 cables
  • Switch-to-Four 200G Adapters: Using 1:2 splitter cables (MFP7E40 series), single twin-port transceiver feeds four ConnectX-7 adapters at 200Gb/s each
  • Direct Switch Connection: Full 400G fabric links when connected to another 400G OSFP transceiver in switch
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I use MMS4X00-NS400 in a BlueField-3 DPU?
A: No. BlueField-3 DPUs require QSFP112 transceivers. Use MMS1X00-NS400 instead.
Q: What happens if I connect a 1:2 splitter cable?
A: The transceiver automatically detects only 2 active lanes, operates at 200Gb/s, and reduces power consumption from 9W to ~5.5W.
Q: Is this transceiver compatible with 100m fiber links?
A: Yes, with straight MFP7E30 cables up to 100m. For splitter cables, max reach is 50m.
