The NVIDIA MCA4J80 series represents a new class of active copper cables (ACC) that bridge the gap between passive DACs and optical solutions. The MCA4J80-N005 uses integrated equalizer ICs at each end to compensate for signal degradation over longer copper runs, enabling 800Gb/s aggregate bandwidth at distances up to 5 meters with latency nearly as low as passive DACs.
