1. Product Overview
Nomay PTFE Tape with Black Release Liner, also called liner-backed PTFE tape or black-liner heat sealer tape, is a single-sided silicone adhesive tape supplied with a removable protective liner.
The tape backing is selected as either PTFE-coated woven fiberglass cloth or pure PTFE film. The PTFE working face provides a non-stick, low-friction contact surface, while the liner protects the adhesive before installation and supports handling of converted parts.
“Black” identifies the release liner, not necessarily the PTFE tape body. A black liner does not establish antistatic, conductive, light-blocking or other electrical performance.
The product is intended for compatible equipment covers, heat-sealing surfaces, guide surfaces and converted non-stick parts. The backing, liner construction and dimensions must be matched to the application.

PTFE-coated fiberglass cloth:
The woven reinforcement supports handling and dimensional stability. Surface texture, flexibility and mechanical performance depend on the selected cloth and coating construction.
Pure PTFE film:
This version contains no woven fiberglass carrier. It can be considered where fabric texture is undesirable, but its finish, conformability and mechanical behavior must be assessed using the selected film grade.
Silicone adhesive:
The pressure-sensitive adhesive attaches the tape to suitable mounting surfaces. Adhesion depends on the substrate, cleanliness, application pressure, temperature, exposure time and mechanical load.

Before equipment installation, stop and isolate the machine and allow the mounting surface to cool. Remove old material and clean the surface using a compatible method. Ensure that the surface is dry and free from oil, dust and loose residue.
Peel away the liner without touching or contaminating the adhesive unnecessarily. Position the tape and apply even pressure, avoiding wrinkles, trapped air and excessive stretching. Do not assume the tape can be repositioned after contact without affecting adhesion.
Remove the liner completely before service. It is a temporary handling layer and must not remain in the heated application.

Confirm continuous temperature, peak temperature and exposure time for the selected model after liner removal. Do not interpret 260°C as an established continuous-use limit or 300°C as unrestricted service capability.
The heater setting, tape contact temperature and adhesive-interface temperature may differ. Evaluate the actual thermal cycle, pressure, contact duration and mechanical conditions.
Peel strength:
The enterprise product-family range is 0–1200 g, as supplied. Confirm the selected model value, specimen width, peel angle, test speed, substrate and conditioning. This describes adhesive testing, not the force required to remove the liner.
Liner release:
Liner release force is a separate characteristic. It must support the intended converting and application process without unintended part lifting or difficult separation.
