1. Product Overview

Nomay Milky White PTFE Film Tape, also called pure PTFE adhesive tape or non-stick PTFE tape, is a single-sided industrial tape combining a fiberglass-free PTFE film backing with silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive.

The exposed PTFE face provides non-stick release and low-friction contact for compatible heat-sealing surfaces, rollers and guide rails. The adhesive face attaches the film to a suitably prepared equipment surface.

“Pure PTFE adhesive tape” identifies the film-backed construction rather than a PTFE-coated fiberglass carrier. It does not mean that the complete tape contains only PTFE, because the product also includes an adhesive layer.

This is an adhesive industrial tape, not non-adhesive plumbing thread-seal tape. The standard industrial version is not automatically food-contact compliant.

2. Product Construction

The installed tape consists of:
- Working surface and backing: Milky white PTFE film without woven fiberglass reinforcement.
- Adhesive layer: Silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive on one face.

A self-wound roll or release-liner-backed format can be reviewed according to the selected model and converting requirements. If a liner is supplied, remove it before bonding and service.

The liner is a temporary protective layer, not part of the installed working structure. Its material and thickness must be specified separately where relevant.

Virgin-resin content and a particular film-production method are not established by the supplied enterprise parameters. If these are purchasing requirements, include them in the model specification rather than assuming them from the product name.

3. Backing & Adhesive System

PTFE film backing:
The film provides a working surface without woven glass-cloth texture. Its flexibility, finish and ability to follow curves depend on thickness, film grade and installation geometry.

The absence of fiberglass reinforcement does not establish zero particle shedding, cleanroom suitability or a particular surface-roughness rating.

Silicone adhesive:
The pressure-sensitive adhesive bonds the tape to suitable mounting surfaces through applied pressure. Adhesion depends on the substrate, cleanliness, application conditions, temperature and service duration.

The exposed PTFE face and the silicone adhesive perform different functions. Non-stick behavior at the working face does not imply weak adhesion at the mounting face or guaranteed residue-free removal after use.

Evaluate compatibility where silicone transfer could interfere with later coating, painting, printing or structural bonding.

4. Available Specifications

Nomay's enterprise specifications for the milky white/matte white silicone adhesive product are:
- Thickness: 0.05–0.1 mm.
- Width: 0.1–1250 mm.
- Roll length: 1–3000 m.
- Color: Milky White / Matte White.
- Adhesive: Silicone adhesive.
- Master roll length: 3000 m.

Confirm the thickness measurement basis for the selected model: film thickness and finished tape thickness must not be treated as interchangeable. A release liner, if required, must be specified separately.

The available combination of thickness, width, roll length and supply format is confirmed for each order. A 3000 m mother roll does not mean every converted size is routinely supplied at that length.

Submit custom width, length, sheet or die-cut requirements with dimensional tolerances. For converted parts, include the liner requirement and drawing where applicable.

The enterprise temperature and peel-strength data are stated in Section 9 together with their required operating and test conditions.

5. Key Features & Buyer Benefits

- Non-stick working face: Helps compatible packaging film and process materials release from the contact surface.
- Low-friction PTFE surface: Can reduce sliding resistance on suitable guides and rollers.
- Film-backed construction: Avoids woven fiberglass texture where a film contact surface is preferred.
- Single-sided silicone adhesive: Enables attachment to suitably prepared equipment surfaces.
- Thin material range: Provides options for installations where clearance and flexibility influence selection.
- Custom dimensions: Allow coverage to be reviewed against the actual equipment geometry.

No fixed friction coefficient, universal wear life or residue-free removal guarantee is assigned without model-specific testing. Benefits must be evaluated under the actual contact, temperature and loading conditions.

6. Application Procedure

Stop and isolate the equipment before installation and allow the mounting surface to cool. Follow the equipment manufacturer's maintenance and tape-replacement instructions.

Remove old material and loose residue. Clean the mounting surface using a compatible method, then ensure it is dry and free from oil, dust and release agents.

Check the tape dimensions and adhesive face. Remove the release liner if supplied. Apply even pressure while avoiding wrinkles, trapped air and excessive stretching.

For roller wrapping, review winding direction, seam position, overlap or butt-joint arrangement against the roller geometry and machine requirements. Do not assume that one wrapping pattern suits every roller.

For sealing jaws or heated plates, confirm that full-face adhesive coverage is appropriate. If the equipment requires an adhesive-free center over a heating element, select a separately specified zone tape.

Confirm installation temperature and any conditioning period for the selected adhesive. Trial the tape with the actual process material, pressure, dwell time and cooling cycle before routine production.

Inspect for edge lifting, wear-through, damage and contamination. Store unused material in clean, dry conditions protected from heat and sunlight, and confirm the supplied model's storage limits and shelf life.

7. Application Industries

Relevant industries include:
- Packaging and heat-sealing machinery.
- Plastic-film and web-material converting.
- Industrial guide and roller maintenance.
- Industrial tape converting and equipment assembly.

Electrical applications require confirmation of the complete tape's dielectric performance and operating conditions. Food-contact, medical and cleanroom suitability are separate requirements and are not established by the white appearance or PTFE material name.

8. Application Scenarios / Problems Solved

Packaging film sticking to sealing surfaces:
The PTFE working face can help compatible film release after sealing. Confirm seal quality using the actual film, pressure, dwell time and cooling conditions.

Material dragging across guides:
A low-friction contact face can reduce sliding resistance where the guide design and process material are suitable. Evaluate adhesion and wear during representative operation.

Woven texture unsuitable for a contact surface:
The film backing avoids woven fiberglass texture. Confirm the required surface finish and mechanical performance rather than assuming a film is always more durable.

Limited clearance around a component:
The enterprise thickness range provides thin-film options for review against the available space. The selected thickness can also affect handling and process response.

Replacement parts requiring controlled dimensions:
A confirmed slit or converted format can help match equipment coverage and reduce trimming during installation. Include tolerances and liner requirements in the drawing.

9. Performance & Operating Conditions

Temperature:
The enterprise temperature range is 0–220°C. This does not independently define an allowable exposure duration or establish that 220°C is suitable for continuous operation.

Confirm continuous temperature, peak temperature and exposure time for the selected model and application. The heater setting, tape contact temperature and adhesive-interface temperature may differ.

Do not extend the stated enterprise range to 260°C or 300°C using general PTFE material data. The complete adhesive tape must be evaluated within the applicable model specification.

Peel strength:
The enterprise range is 900–1200 g, as supplied. Confirm specimen width, peel angle, speed, substrate and conditioning before using this value for comparison or acceptance. Do not interpret it as g/25 mm without a confirmed test basis.

Friction and wear:
The PTFE face provides low-friction behavior, but no numerical coefficient is specified here. Actual friction depends on the opposing material, load, speed, surface condition and test method.

Chemical compatibility:
Assess the PTFE film, adhesive and exposed edges against the actual chemical, concentration, temperature and contact time.

Electrical performance:
PTFE material properties alone do not establish a rated insulation system. Confirm complete-tape dielectric data, thickness and assembly requirements before specifying an electrical function.

10. Comparison & Selection Guide

PTFE film versus PTFE-coated fiberglass:
Consider the film version where woven texture is undesirable or the installation favors a thin film. Consider a reinforced construction where its dimensional and mechanical characteristics suit the process. Compare actual model data.

Milky white industrial tape versus a food-contact version:
Select this industrial version for compatible equipment applications. Where direct food contact is involved, request documentation for the exact construction and contact conditions; white color is not evidence of compliance.

Silicone adhesive versus acrylic adhesive:
This model uses silicone adhesive. An acrylic version is a different construction with its own adhesion and temperature data. Choose according to process compatibility rather than transferring ratings between adhesive systems.

Self-wound versus liner-backed:
A self-wound format may suit direct roll application. A confirmed liner-backed format may assist converting and handling of small parts.

Thickness selection:
Evaluate flexibility, clearance, heat response and mechanical exposure together. Do not assume that a thicker version automatically provides longer life or that the thinnest version suits every curved surface.
