1. Product Overview
Nomay Acrylic Adhesive PTFE Tape combines a non-stick, low-friction PTFE working surface with single-sided acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive.
Also known as Acrylic PTFE Tape or PTFE Tape with Acrylic Adhesive, it is intended for guide rails, rollers, equipment lining and selected heat-sealing applications.
PTFE film and PTFE-coated fiberglass are separate backing options. Their surface texture, flexibility, dimensions and mechanical properties must be specified individually.

PTFE Film Version
PTFE film provides a working surface without a woven fiberglass texture. Film processing method and thickness influence conformity and dimensional behavior.
PTFE-Coated Fiberglass Version
Woven fiberglass coated with PTFE provides a reinforced working surface. Weave and coating coverage influence flexibility, finish and wear.
Adhesive: Acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive on one side.
Liner: Release paper or film on liner-backed versions.
Formats: Slit rolls, sheets, strips and die-cut parts; self-wound requirements confirmed separately.
Total thickness includes backing and adhesive and excludes the removable liner.
3. Backing & Adhesive System
The PTFE surface helps release contacting materials and reduce sliding friction.
Film is useful where a woven texture is undesirable. Fiberglass reinforcement supports dimensional stability, but relative wear life must be tested rather than assumed.
Acrylic adhesive provides an alternative where silicone PSA is restricted. It does not establish that the complete tape is silicone-free; backing treatment, liner and converting controls remain relevant.
Initial tack and maximum temperature depend on the selected formulation, not the adhesive name alone.

Guide Rails and Chutes
Install a low-friction surface where moving material drags or marks. Confirm load, speed, edge geometry and wear. PTFE does not guarantee scratch-free handling under every condition.
Roller Covering
Use a release surface where coatings, adhesives or inks accumulate. Confirm diameter, seam layout, chemicals and peel forces. A flat-surface adhesion result does not establish rotating-service durability.
Heat-Sealing Equipment
Use on suitable bars or rollers when the complete tape meets the cycle. Confirm actual tape temperature, pressure and dwell time. PTFE surface heat resistance alone does not establish adhesive capability.
Silicone-Restricted Processes
Select acrylic PSA where silicone adhesive is restricted. Confirm complete-product contamination limits and test methods; acrylic chemistry does not prove total silicone absence.
Tooling Release
Use strips on compatible fixtures or lay-up surfaces. Confirm resin, cure cycle and required surface finish. Do not assume compatibility with every composite process.

Temperature
Selected comparable acrylic PTFE film and glass cloth grades have published service references around -40°C to 177°C. These are selection references, not verified Nomay ratings. Confirm continuous and peak conditions separately.
Adhesion
Specify substrate, test method, specimen width, pressure and dwell time. Evaluate low-surface-energy plastics and contaminated or textured surfaces separately.
Release and Wear
Performance depends on coating or film, pressure, speed and contact material. Worn fiberglass-backed tape may expose reinforcement.
Chemicals and Removal
The adhesive and edges may be less resistant than the PTFE face. Confirm solvent exposure and aged removal behavior.

Choose PTFE-coated fiberglass where reinforcement and dimensional stability are important.
