Yes, absolutely. This machine is highly versatile. It is designed for high-speed double-layer (bi-layer) tablet production, but it can be easily switched to produce standard single-layer tablets by adjusting the parameters on the HMI touchscreen and altering the feeding/discharge configuration.
How does the machine prevent cross-contamination or mixing between the two different powder layers?
We utilize two separate, advanced mechanisms to ensure clear separation: Independent Dual Force Feeders and Vacuum Dust Extraction. The powder for each layer has its own isolated hopper and force-feeding system, with specialized suction nozzles positioned right after the first-layer filling station to remove any excess stray powder before the second-layer powder is introduced.
How do you guarantee accurate and consistent weight control for both layers at high speeds?
The machine is equipped with an advanced Automatic Weight Control (AWC) system. It monitors the compression force of each station in real-time. If the force deviates from the preset value (indicating a weight change), the PLC automatically adjusts the filling cam dosing depth. The system also supports individual layer sampling, allowing you to check the weight of the first layer independently during a production run.
What should we do if the two layers tend to separate or delaminate after compression?
Delamination is usually solved by adjusting the pre-compression force. Our machine allows you to independently adjust the pre-compression and main compression for both layers. For bi-layer tablets, the first layer is typically given a light pre-compression (just enough to shape it but keep the surface rough), allowing the second layer to bond perfectly to it during the final main compression.
Does the control system comply with pharmaceutical regulatory standards like 21 CFR Part 11?
Yes. Our intelligent control system is powered by a German-brand PLC and HMI. It includes standard pharmaceutical compliance features such as multi-level password protection (user access management), recipe management, data logging, and audit trails to meet FDA and international cGMP standards.
How does the automatic rejection system work for defective tablets?
The machine features a high-speed pneumatic/solenoid rejection gate. If the main compression force sensor detects a tablet that is over or under the force tolerance limits (which correlates to incorrect thickness or weight), it will trigger the gate to deflect that single defective tablet into a reject bin without stopping the production line.
What type of tooling (punches and dies) does this machine use, and do you supply them?
Our machines generally support international standard tooling types, such as EUD/B/BB-tooling, depending on your tablet size and output requirements. Yes, we can custom-design and manufacture the punches and dies (including round, oblong, geometric, or embossed shapes with your logo) based on your specifications.
How long does a product changeover and cleaning validation take?
Thanks to our sanitary design, all product contact parts (hoppers, force feeders, scrapers, and dust collection nozzles) feature quick-disassembly mechanisms that require no special tools. A complete deep-cleaning and tool changeover typically takes about 1.5 to 2.5 hours, depending on the operator's experience.
