The horizontal plate electrostatic precipitator efficiently captures dust in exhaust gas through electrostatic purification. This industrial air pollution control system operates using sophisticated electrostatic principles to remove particulate matter from industrial emissions.
Operating Principle
The purification process relies on two primary systems: the corona electrode and the precipitation electrode. When dusty gas enters the equipment through the intake bell mouth, the gas distribution plate and cross-sectional expansion cause rapid velocity reduction, allowing heavier particles to settle.
As the gas enters the electric field, high-voltage direct current applied to the corona electrode creates a corona phenomenon, ionizing the surrounding gas. This ionization generates positive and negative ions that charge the dust particles, causing them to migrate toward and deposit on electrodes of opposite polarity.

Cleaning Process
Both electrode systems feature striking mechanisms that periodically dislodge accumulated dust. The striking hammers systematically clean the electrodes, causing deposited dust to fall into the lower ash hopper for removal through the ash discharge system.
Following purification, the clean exhaust gas is safely discharged into the atmosphere through the outlet chimney.
